Being a restorer/collector of actual early 70′s Hondas and also any related literature, I’m usually quick to snap up any title that deals with this subject. Mr. Walker’s book promises 35 years of production detail (a quote from the actual jacket). What I was hoping for was information regarding how many actual units were produced, what countries they sold in, how many years each particular offering ran – along with the usual technical details of each model offered. Instead, the book offers an overview of the various series of bikes Honda produced in the given time frame – and for some models either gives scant print or overlooks them altogether. The material that is provided is good, I guess I was just expecting something that better denoted each model’s actual lineage. Still a must have for those building a Honda library – but would be a good companion to other books, like Roy Bacon’s ‘Honda, The Early Classic Motorcycles’
